Ever been thrown up on by your kid?
Funny how it never happens during the day when the pediatrician’s office is open, but rather after hours when you have little to no option to take them anywhere. AND after cleaning them up, you up and everything else up, you then get to go to some dodgy after hours care place and wait your turn all while holding your sick kid in your arms in the middle of the night. Not to mention if you have more than one kid and a single parent, you’re loading up the whole gang for the trip – and we aren’t talking about a vacation.
Those are the days (and nights, actually) that put the CHALLENGE in www.mamachallenge.com.
But we’ve got a solution and it comes at the click of your finger. Already in North Dallas and expanding into other areas of DFW soon, PediaQ is the on-demand urgent kids care house call service that comes to you and your kiddo. Founded and funded in October 2014 by Jon O’Sullivan, PediaQ is the first and only on-demand service focused solely on the pediatric market, 4 pm – 8 am on weekdays and 24 hours per day on weekends.
When your child is in need of urgent care, with PediaQ you have the comfort and security of knowing that your child has the highest quality care at your fingertips. By using the app, you not only request an appointment, but are able to see the credentials and reviews of the staff, have your medical information safely and securely shared with your pediatrician and have a pediatric nurse practitioner at your door in about an hour. Plus electronically connect to your pharmacy for fast, convenient prescriptions!
At around $150 for standard hours and $250 for after hours care, many insurance providers may reimburse you for your PediaQ visit. And HSA credit card may be used to pay for the services.
Not to mention they won’t judge you if you are covered in vomit. Just don’t reach out to shake their hand when they come to the door.
And for a limited time, PediaQ is offering a special discount to try their service. (Make sure to confirm the discount to ensure it’s still valid.)
For more information visit their website (www.pediaq.care) and follow them on Facebook.

This sounds like an app that all parents should have. I am going to check it out.

What a great app! I love the idea of house visits. Who wants to drag a sick kid out of the house? So much nicer for them to come to you for treatment.
Kelsey Apley says
Great app for all parents. I love apps like this that are really useful!!!
Dawn says
I absolutely love this idea! When kids are sick, the last thing they want to do is go anywhere, and the whine factor is severe. This is great!
Amy Desrosiers says
I hate going to the Dr’s and bringing my kids! I would totally use this service!
Shauna says
Oh my goodness, this is the coolest thing ever. I love this idea. Thanks so much for sharing.
Kelly Hutchinson says
What a great service! This is so much better than to bundle the kid up to go to a scary ER in the middle of the night.
Debi says
That is the best thing ever. My mom always talked about house calls. It would be a life saver at times
Marcie W. says
I love that they are bringing back old school house calls. We are busier than ever these days and doctor visits can involve hours of waiting, which is especially tough with a sick child. I would gladly pay extra for an in-home visit.
Vera Sweeney says
This would save me so much time of dragging the kids to the doctor’s office for minor things. Plus it seems the kids catch more in the waiting room then we went in to the doctor’s office.

Very cool – I thought it was an app – but this even better, I can’t imagine the nurse going out to the home! But I can see that it would help the nurses with their work hours – PediaQ sounds excellent!
