I love the holidays, but after all the hustle and bustle of traveling, eating grandma’s stuffing and sleeping in beds other than my own, there’s nothing better than coming home to enjoy the comforts of my own house in front of the TV watching a movie, enjoying a glass of vino while biting into the perfect meal. For our family, Italian cuisine is the one we all love so if you are trying to make us all happy, it has to have pasta, bread or cheese it in.

Too bad I’m not in the mood to cook for five hours to make marinara sauce, my famous lasagna or cut fresh noodles. However, a quick trip to the store and less than an hour in the oven, I can have the ideal Italian night in without the work.  And you can too with Michael Angelo’s.

Even with the kids, we were able to enjoy a nice family evening playing Scopa, an Italian card game while nibbling on our antipasto platter I had made to start off the dinner’s events. We followed up with both the meaty lasagna and buttery  shrimp scampi (the gal at the grocery store had almost demanded I buy it because it was so good) and then followed by an Italian sweetie of canoli. We paired our meal with a light Rioja and finished the evening watching a very apropos A Roman Holiday. The evening may not have been just like dinner in Rome, but it was close to it in my living room in Texas.

  8. We’ve been enjoying Michael Angelo’s for a few year- I love the authentic Italian variety. They also make an eggplant Parmesan that is pretty delicious considering I didn’t have to slave away making it!

  15. I’m a pretty big fan of lasagna, looks like I will be giving this a try. I like the preservative free approach, it might be that they are harmless, but why take a chance?

  34. My favorite Italian food is pizza, but the Americanized version, not the Italian style. Other than that, I can also eat tons of lasagna.

  47. I don’t just have one favorite Italian dish. I love way too many of them. Lasagna, Chicken Parm. garlic bread, mozzarella cheese the list goes on.

  48. I used to bake pizzas from scratch, and make lasagna a lot. But I no longer eat cheese. So the best for now is a mix of veggies (zucchini, carrots, peppers, onions) in a nice marinara.

  54. My father is Italian and i grew up eating lots of Italian foods. My favorite is pasta of course. My mom makes the best spaghetti and meatballs. We would have it at least once a week.

  86. I was in Rome this summer and my favorite thing to eat were the pastries. Seriously expresso and pastries there were divine. Sfogliatelle, were probably my favorite. Makes my mouth water thinking of them.

  88. ANYTHING! lol… litterally anything, especially pasta, anything with pasta… Shrimp fra diavolo, as well as Penne alla vodka are really good too!

  101. I am pretty much in love with ALL Italian food so it is super hard for me to choose a favorite!! If I had to choose I can narrow it down to two, either Cheese Manicotti or Chicken Parmesan. Thank you so much for posting this and doing this amazing giveaway!!

  113. When I was in Italy we had the best pizza at a small eatery. I’ve never found anything that compares to it. However since I can’t find anything similar my next favorite italian food would be lasagna.

  125. I love angel hair pasta with anything. My favorite would be with shrimp in a pink sauce. Garlic bread with mozzarella cheese. A Caesar salad. Moscato wine. Tiramisu for dessert. An espresso to finish.

  130. Michael Angelos is perfect for my busy weeknight’s. I just add a salad and voila! Italian is a fave of mine so hard to choose but I’d say a Lasagna, either spinach or traditional meat sauce. Thanks for the giveaway!
