Shave the Date: Movember Ends Nov. 30 {Giveaway}

November 20, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo 5 Comments

The handle bar.

The pencil thin.

The Pizza Inn.

Actually, I can go on for days of all the different kinds of mustaches that you’ve probably seen this month throughout Movember.

Some of them good. Some of them not so good.

Movember

Started  as an effort in Austraila in 2013, Movember has grown to a 21-country effort that in 2013 had more than 219,000 participants and raised more $23 million. And let’s not even begin to count all the amount of hair that was cut when it was over.

However, it’s not really about the beards.  Remember Movember is about getting men to talk about men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.

But when it’s all said and done…thankfully many men will take it off (we hope) and The Boardroom is ready to help us all do it in style.  A proud supporter of Movember, Nov. 29 & 30,  men will receive 50 percent off an Express Shave with a $5 donation to the Movember Foundation.  The Boardroom is also hosting a ‘Celebrate Movember’ contest, offering Facebook fans the opportunity to win free weekly mustache trims and a free Benchmark haircut service. For each contest entry received, Boardroom will donate $10 to the Movember Foundation.

Movember

With 12 locations in DFW, including: Dallas, Addison, Las Colinas, Plano, Frisco, Fort Worth, Southlake and Highland Village, the Boardroom Salon for Men was created to provide a cool, comfortable, masculine place for men to get a great haircut, shave, facial or other spa service – the ultimate relaxed grooming experience for men.

But I’m making sure for one lucky man is rewarded for his moustache-growing with either a free Benchmark haircut or a free Hot Lather Shave (both valued at $55). What a great gift for that special man!

Looking for the Best Dallas Bloggers? Here are some great ones to follow.

My journey to blogging actually is more like dirt roads that merged and became I-35.

While I still uncover many bloggers based in Dallas on a daily basis that are foodies, fashionistas and more, these gals (and guys) know how to make some amazing crafts, where to go for the bargains and share candidly many experiences you can really relate with.

The Gals’ First Timers Guide to a Dallas Cowboys Game

October 26, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo 2 Comments

Hey Girl! Are you headed out to see your first Dallas Cowboys game? Then you need this: The Gals’ First Timers Guide to a Dallas Cowboys Game.

Thanks to #GoVerizon for inviting me to my first time at Dallas Cowboys game. #GoVerizon

When you step out of my backdoor you can actually see both of the stadiums that house the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys.

Considering how close we live to all the action, you’d think we spend a lot of time there, but unfortunately, until a few weeks ago, I’d never been inside to see a game of America’s #1 Team. To get ready for the big game, I wasn’t sure what to wear, what to bring (or not) and what else I should do to have the best experience. So here’s your breakdown of everything you need from one gal to another to go to your first Dallas Cowboys Game.

The Gals' First-Timer Guide to a Dallas Cowboys Game

What to Wear

Of course, like any great milestone, the first thing a female wants to know is “What do I Wear?” While I did do a little Pinterest research for ideas, the reality of what to wear to the game is by taking a look at what everyone else was wearing once I got there. Honestly, it seems as though there were two specific camps you fell into with your appropriate attire at the Cowboys game:

Sporty Spice

About the women at the game sported their jerseys and cute team apparel proudly. A few of them would add their own spin with lots of Texas flair like rhinestones, ballcaps and boots.

Posh Spice

The other half fell more into this group with Texas flair from head to toe. These gals brought their A game with bling, dresses, skirts and also, like our Sporty Spice, the boots (also with bling and design.)

If you don’t fall into either of these you’ll be fine, but just remember if you wear a skirt and your seats are up high, you might want to wear a cute pair of bloomers for the all the spectators below. 🙂

What to Bring

Handbags

My biggest concern of what to bring to the game was my handbag. I normally carry a pretty large bag, but I didn’t want to deal with it at the game. And that’s good since the stadium doesn’t allow it. The rules are very specific when it comes to the size of your bag and what you can have in it.

  • NFL approved bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12″ x 6″ x 12.” The bags may be hand-carried or have a shoulder strap.

  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar).

  • Small, one compartment, clutch bag that does not exceed 8.5″ x 5.5″, with or without a handle or strap. This can be carried separately or within a plastic bag.

    bag_image_v3a_1371166608

Mobile Phone (and it matters which provider you have)!

Of course, in addition to your bag, you need to think about what you’re bringing. While you should always have a driver’s license (especially if you plan to drink alcohol at a tailgate party or purchase at the game), the other most important item is your mobile phone. I know I thought my AT&T smartphone wouldn’t have even had been a talking point since  it’s AT&T Stadium at all, but that was not the case. From the moment I arrived for tailgating until I left to go home, my reception was a gamble and most the time I was losing. A lot. I wanted to chronicle my experience and without my friend with a Verizon phone (which has excellent service), I wouldn’t have been able to communicate online at all.

Verizon

Bottomline, if you want to be offline and zone into the game while you’re there and have your own arrangements for transportion, you’re ok. But if you want to share that touchdown, take a selfie with the celebrity you might bump into milling around the stadium or meet up with that friend you know is also at the game at a mutual location, it’s probably not going to happen unless you have good reception like I know you’ll get from Verizon and not from AT&T.

Strollers

If you are bringing a kiddo until 2 to the game, you’ll probably want to bring a stroller. Remember, that stadium is HUGE and unless you are hanging with Jerry himself, you’ll be walking whereever your seat is and you’ll want a stroller. Strollers are permitted and ideally an umbrella one will do the job so you can put it under your seat. If not, you can check the stroller at Guest Services Center located on the concourse behind Sections 219, 244, 420 and 451.

How to Get There

It costs a lot of money to park at the stadium. I mean like $100 or so and you might still be walking to get there. And there’s still the time it takes to find a spot and after the game, get out in a reasonable time. However, if you’re smart, there’s several other options that don’t cost you money, time or too much effort!

Uber

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you need to get on the ball. However, but in a nutshell, it’s a cab service manned by other regular folks like you and I. Calling for a car has never been so easy with the Uber app which also is the way you pay. And anyone at mamachallenge.com can get $2o off their first Uber ride by using code “MamaChallenge20”. Just download the app and get going on your own car service.

Uber

Ride the Trolley

In Arlington around the ballpark, there are many restaurants and retailers that are happy for you to come and park – as long as you come and spend a little time (and money) before the game. For normally $20-30 spent, you can park your car and take the convenient red trolley to drop you off at the stadium. For instance, Cici’s Pizza will let you park for $100 and you get a few pizzas to boot.

Drive & Park

If you opt to just drive your car right on up to Jerry’s World, just make sure to give yourself some time, patience and bring comfortable shoes because it might take a while to find a spot. However, if you’re going early to tailgate you probably can scout out a good place. Just remember, if you are hosting the tailgate and have a tent you plan to put up close to the grounds, you need to make sure you got a permit for that.

You’re at the Game, Now What?

You Don’t Understand Football

Hey, me neither! But the game is a lot of fun without even watching the game too seriously. Either ask someone around you to give you a little lesson (unless they are too into it and now is not the time.) Or again, use that phone to look it up. However, I can tell you the words “Touchdown” and “Field Goal” are good words when we are referring to the Cowboys. And if you hear “fumble” or a lot of people giving a piece of their mind at the ref, it’s not going so well.

Food

Food is the second most important F-word at a Cowboys game. And there’s a lot of it. Whether you are aiming for beer and nachos to a nicer, upscale meal made from a well-trained chef, they make it available for you. I really eyed the taqueria fare, however, the cinnamon nuts are going to try to lure you with their aroma. If you are on a diet or watching your weight, this isn’t really your favorite eating destination, but you do have options.

Just in Case

There’s a lot of things you might not want to ask or think will happen, but sometimes they do, which is why there are several services in place to help while you’re onsite.

Family Restrooms

You’ll find family restrooms throughout the stadium on all concourses and on each Club and Suite level. Also there are baby changing stations in baby girl or boy needs a new diaper.

Text program
Got a question and can’t find anyone to ask? Guest may call for assistance during each event by sending a text message to 69050 from your cell phone.  Type the word STAR followed by a space and the issues (question, comment, concern, etc.) and location and someone will get back to you to help.

First Aid Kit

No one wants to get hurt, but it can happen with all those stairs or those cute heels you chose to wear instead of comfortable shoes like I suggested. If you need a bandaid or other medical assistance, you can find five first aid locations including Event Level – Northeast Tunnel, Main Concourse – Behind Sections 219 and 244 and Upper Concourse – Behind Sections 420 and 451. However, contact a member of the event staff and they can quickly guide you to neccesary assistance.

Lost and Found

If you’re like me, you are the worst at laying down something and then forgetting to pick it back up especially coats, hats or that new shirt you might have bought in the gift shop. If that’s you too and now you can’t find it head to Guest Services. As long as your item is not your mobile phone, then call (817) 892-4161 for information or notify them via lostandfound@dallascowboys.net for your item.

Now if you lose the kiddo or your friend you came with, thankfully they have that, too. Contact a member of the staff and they can help you reconnect.

Safe-in-the-Seat Program

Guests can receive a free ID bracelet featuring a space to write in their seat location. The Safe in the Seat Program aids in reuniting lost children and guests with their parties. The bracelets are available at all Guest Services Centers located on the concourse behind Sections 219, 244, 420 and 451. Safe in the Seat bracelets are not valid in place of a ticket.

And of course, if all else fails, there is an app for that! Download the AT&T Stadium app in advance or if you are doing it onsite, you’ll need good service like with Verizon Wireless.

Got any tips for football game success for the gals?

Choose the Best Day Care for Your Family with the Three Es

October 14, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo 1 Comment

I received a thank you gift basket for providing my experience and knowledge of TLC Schools. However, all the comments and opinions are my own.

While I may office from home, my schedule requires designated “work time” and flexibility to meet with clients on a moment’s notice. So before my daughter was born, I researched for months to find the right day care that met my family’s needs and my child could prosper and grow throughout the almost 50 hours a week that she would be there.

TLCSchools

Thankfully, I was relieved three years ago we found a home at TLC Schools, a locally owned and operated school system with three locations in Plano and Arlington. Voted “Best in Child Care” by LIVING Magazine in 2014, TLC Schools provide everything (and more) I was looking for with a focus on the three Es: Education, Environment and what I like to refer to as all the Extras you won’t often find at other day care facilities. While finding the right day care isn’t easy, but using the three Es from my experience, you can streamline your process while also choosing the perfect fit for your family.

TLCSchoolVoted#1

 1. ENVIRONMENT

First and foremost, while education is VERY important, you really should find a school or day care that has the right balance for your child’s need of learning, nurturing and fun.

TLCInteriors

From around three months old, the biggest factor that won me over at TLC Schools was how “safe” I felt leaving my bundle of joy with them each day. No matter what member of the staff I may pass in the hall, everyone shares with me the details of my daughter’s day including what funny thing she said at lunch or the big milestones she might have experienced throughout her school day. This means a lot to me not only because the staff is able to share these big moments with me and make me a part of them, but also because I know that they are taking care of her with watchful eyes as well as hearts.  Use of individual door codes for entry and a well-watched check-in and check-out system also increase the safety of the day care for my child. However, I know sometimes you might need more…

[Tweet “Want to check in on your tot at day care without leaving your desk? @TLCSchoolsDFW make it possible with live cameras from WatchMeGrow.com. #Besttheycanbe”]

Just by taking a look around a day care facility, you can see if the staff is creative with the kids. Beyond the colorful walls and furniture at TLC, every season the school is decorated from top to bottom with fun themes including in the classrooms. The doors, walls and even the ceilings make it a fun place for the kids to enjoy as they sing, hear stories or even celebrate the holidays with class parties!

TLCDecor

When looking at day care facilities, ask to see their menu plans and what modifications are available if your child is on a special diet. Quite possibly one of my daughter’s favorite parts about TLC is the food. Healthy snacks, breakfast and lunch are prepared daily for the kids, served and eaten in the classroom.  One of our hardest challenges at home had been getting my daughter to eat her vegetables, but thankfully through the assistance and patience of her TLC teacher, she not only eats her vegetables, but enjoys them, too!

2.  Education

No matter the age of your child, learning is happening in everything that they do, say and observe – especially at day care. When selecting a day care,  ask what types of activities the kids are doing, what concepts they are learning and even for the younger kids what book or song they sang that day!  At TLC, education is based on the age group of each child using the HighReach Curriculum for Infants/Toddlers and for the older children they use the ABeka Curriculum, a recognized development approach for their learning platforms. Additionally, computers classes, music classes, language classes (sign language and Spanish) are offered to help children not to just learn the basics, but increase their learning spectrum, as well as having fun while they learn.

[Tweet “Learn the 3 Es for Choosing the Best Day Care for Your Family on @mamachallenge. @TLCSchoolsDFW #BesttheyCanBe “]

And education at the day care shouldn’t just stop at the kids! When speaking with a potential day care, make sure to ask questions about the teachers’ education levels. At TLC for instance, all of the teachers are requested to obtain their degree (if they don’t have one already) while completing continuing education classes, and maintaining CPR and first-aid certifications.

3. Extras

At many day cares you probably think of the “extras” as all the “other” things you have to pay for in addition to your tuition. However, you want to select a facility that provides options that you didn’t even know you needed, but help to round out the ideal experience for your child.

For instance at TLC Schools, in addition to regular day care,  the facilities offer:

  • Kindergarten (at select locations)
  • After-school programs for school-age kid with included bus pick-up
  • Summer camp with weekly field trips
  • Extracurricular activities on site like gymnastics or karate classes
  • Drop-in day care for those days public school might be closed, but you still need care for your children.

Another great “extra” I didn’t even know I needed was the included diaper + wipes bundle for your little one with your tuition. While you have the option to bring your own supplies, it makes it so much  easier (and cheaper) to not have to remember all that “stuff” in the diaper bag!

5 Things to Do Before Going to Just Between Friends (JBF)

September 25, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo 2 Comments

I’m a HUGE FAN of Just Between Friends. If you are a JBFer, you know why moms volunteer hours of their time just to be the first ones to get their hands on this incredible merchandise at amazing prices. And if you’re a new mom or just haven’t had a chance to go to a JBF, then you are going to wonder “why didn’t I think of this super cool concept?”

JBFDallas

Short of the long: Just Between Friends is North America’s Leading Children’s and Maternity Consignment Sales Event! Moms sell kid stuff to other moms at big convention center area in the spring and the fall. Moms who sale stuff make money, moms who buy stuff save money and JBF does the hosting of this big, money-saving event for your kids.

In DFW, we get the pleasure of having several of the best JBF consignment sales out there. Every spring and the fall, moms and dads gear up for shopping deals you can’t find anywhere else and can make your dollars really stretch. However, I don’t refer to it as budget shopping, but more smart shopping. AND take it from me, a gal who tries never to miss a JBF shopping experience, I have a few tips that will make a real difference between a great shopping experience and understanding how some women have to have their husbands come with a truck to haul it all home. (I’ve seen it many times.)

5 Things to Do Before Going to Just Between Friends Dallas (JBF)

1. Think ahead.

While each sale is just for the current season, so of the deals are so good that you could score the best deal for a coat that you might have for your son’s 6th birthday even though he’s 4 now. And because this JBF sale is in the fall, they also include Halloween costumers and plenty of toys that would look great around your Christmas tree.

2. Make with a list.

A list will save you time and money. Sure I’ve gone plenty of times with nothing but my credit card, but having a list of sizes, whom to buy for (if you have other family members or expecting friends), and a list of what you need (like the skiing coat for an upcoming vacation), you’ll really see how JBF can save you money and make it much easier to get exactly what you need!

3. Dress to shop till you drop.

You might be coming to get the cutest clothes for your kids, but going to the sale isn’t a time to sport your new Jimmy Choos. Take it from me, there will be no judgement from anyone if you throw on those yoga pants that you don’t really do yoga in, a pair of crocs and a pony tail and come out to shop. We all know that we are on a mission for great clothes and great toys for great prices and nobody got time for makeup, Pinterest style and taking selfies.

4. Bring your own bags or rolly carts.

The first time you ever pull into the parking lot of a JBF sale, you will know why I say this. The women that know roll in the rolly carts, wheel in the hanging racks and have a few huge reusable bags to load up all their finds until they hit up the cash register. With plenty of clothes, books, furniture, shoes, toys and more to go through, you need something to hold your stuff and your arms need to be free to keep digging. Plus when you pay out, you can load all the loot back up and take it to the car.  I’ve forgotten this a few times and regretted it later because my body hurt from holding it. While there is a “Hold” area for you to drop off things as you buy things, you don’t want to leave your spot in the racks and come back to find someone else picked up where you left off.

5. There’s no shame in a fanny pack.

Yes, there is actually, but I think you get the drift. Again, this is not time to bring out the big mama purse. You need to carry in only the bare essentials – mobile phone, money, chap stick and a water. The water is a big thing if your JBF sale doesn’t have a place to purchase refreshments because shopping can be an endurance sport. Hydration is key when you’ve been going at it for an hour plus and you will be thirsty, especially if you’re pregnant and you are buying everything under the moon so you don’t have to pay full price later. (Make sure you also get your free pass if you’re expecting and you get a special advance time to buy with free admission!)

Now that you’re ready, then get in the car and head over to Just Between Friends Dallas sale happening at Mesquite Rodeo Hall! If you can’t make it today starting at 10 AM then you have until SUNDAY to score your deals. I know that we’re stocked up, but that’s only until the next JBF Dallas sale happening in March 2015, so mark your calendar!

Way Better than the Golden Arches: Peruvian Gold at Irving Arts Center

September 23, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo Leave a Comment

According to the gold-chained icon of the 80s, Mr. T (yes, you know the one):
“I practice the Golden Rule: He who has all the gold, makes the rules.”

While Mr. T wasn’t around during the ruling time of the ancient Pre-Inca Peruvians, he does a good job of paraphrasing the special “golden” age of civilizations from 1250 B.C. to A.D. 1450. featured in the limited exhibition “Peruvian Gold: Ancient Treasures Unearthed” at the Irving Arts Center, October 4 – December 31.

Peruvian Gold is presented in partnership with the National Geographic Museum in Washington D.C. and will showcase extraordinary objects from Peru’s pre-Inca heritage, including gold ceremonial and funerary masks, textiles, ceremonial ornaments, ceramics and jewelry. The centerpiece of the exhibition will be El Tocado, the largest and most ornate pre-Columbian headdress ever discovered. The extraordinary gold headdress dates from the Middle Sican period (A.D. 900-1100). This exhibition marks the first time it has been on display in the United States since it was unearthed in 1991.

Guest curated by National Geographic’s Archaeology Fellow Dr. Fredrik Hiebert, “Peruvian Gold” features iconic artifacts on loan from three Peruvian institutions: Sican National Museum, Larco Museum and Museum of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru. Irving is the only location outside of Washington D.C. to host Peruvian Gold.

Considered Texas’ LARGEST children’s and maternity consignment sale, Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014 – Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014 at Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Memorial Center – Amon G. Carter Exhibit Hall. I’ve always been a big fan of these sales since you have the chance to get clothes at a huge discount, not to mention these items have already gotten a mom’s eye, so I’m able to find several outfits in my favorite styles!

My first time at JBF Fort Worth was when my daughter was born and I completely stocked her closet for winter and spring for less than $100. Now that I have a first-grader and my daughter just turned three, I have lots of clothes to sell, but no time to organize them for consignment.

So I found the next best thing: Drop-N-Go Tagging and they do all the work for you!

First time parents can sign-up to shop early (registration for the First Time Parent Sale ends on August 28), as well as volunteering & consigning will get you an early pre-sale pass! More information on early shopping, check the website!

Win 4 Season Passes to Six Flags at Pokémon Trainer Challenge

August 6, 2014 By Autumn Rose Reo Leave a Comment

Disclaimer: I was provided passes so we can meet you at the Pokeman Trainer Challenge at Six Flags Over Texas on Aug. 10! Affiliate links may be used.

When I was a teenager my little brother, along with every other boy in the world was a big fan of Pokemon. However, I didn’t know what it was other than a game and the hot toy for his 6-year-old birthday. It, along with the Power Rangers, I thought, were a memory of us growing up.

image002

Then when my own little 6-year-old uttered the words “Pichachu” after watching a cartoon on YouTube that I might need to do a little homework since the enchanting world of Pokémon was back again for me a second time!

After spending some time googling Pokéman, I learned that the game actually encourages strategic thinking, math skills and good sportsmanship. Considering these are ideal concepts for any child to learn, I started to become a bigger fan of the more than 700 creatures that inhabit the Pokémon universe.

That’s why this Sunday, Aug. 10 we are looking forward to participating in the Pokémon Trainer Challenge at Six Flags Over Texas and a chance to win FOUR Six Flags season passes PLUS a Pokémon toy prize pack.

PokemonScreen

Guests are invited to the Pokémon Trainer Station tent inside the park for contest info and to sign up. You can also practice your trainer skills, check out some of the hottest new Pokémon toys and take your photo with Ash.

Then 10 lucky guests will be selected from the eligible contest entry forms to take the Pokémon Trainer Challenge for the chance to win four 2015 season passes to Six Flags and more than $250 worth of Pokémon toys.

Pokemon

If you aren’t able to make it this Sunday, you can still make it out on Aug. 17, Aug. 23 & 24 to visit the Pokémonm booth at each park to try out the newest products and take a photo next to life-size Ashe!

The contest is open to guests age 8 to 13 at the park on Aug. 10. All guests must submit a contest entry form by 2:30 pm to be eligible for participation. Entry forms and contest rules are available at guest relations and at the Pokémon tent inside the park on Aug. 10.

Entrant selection begins promptly at 2:45 p.m. and all guests must be present at the designated Pokémon tent at this time to for a chance to participate. The contest will take place at 3 p.m.

Participating Six Flags parks include:
Six Flags Over Texas
Six Flags Magic Mountain
Six Flags Great America
Six Flags Over Georgia
Six Flags Great Adventure

One prize will be awarded at each participating park. Click here for Official Rules.

🚨 ACT NOW: Keep Public $$$ in Public Schools! 🚨

Click Here (takes less than one minute):
https://www.txpta.org/take-action

Tomorrow, March 11, the Texas House Committee on Public Education will hear HB 3. Let’s make it clear: Public money demands public accountability!

Texans have rejected vouchers since 1957—yet lawmakers are once again pushing them through with SB 2 and HB 3.

💰 Vouchers drain public school resources.
📉 They don’t improve student achievement.
❌ They aren’t about "parent choice"—private schools choose their students.
🏫 Texas parents already have school choice.

Governor Abbott is making vouchers a priority, but Texans are pushing back. Lawmakers are feeling the heat from voters who refuse to let public schools be undermined.

📲 Take 1 minute to make your voice heard NOW!

📷Jackson and Taylor are 2 of the 5.5 million reasons why Texas must keep public dollars in public schools. I was a product of public schools and had an amazing experience in a rural community with some of the best teachers. Change needs to happen, but taking away resources like these from schools is not especially when they ste already underfunded and our teachers’ morale is at an all time low. Communities work better together not when you separate them further apart.

Growing up @cocacola made the holidays magic, so when Coca Cola Classic rolled down the road, we had to go peek! Partnering with @enchantchristmas, the experience is part lights, part photo opps and for my kids mostly FOOD and overall a lot of fun - all washed down with (of course, a Coca Cola!)

What was also great was a little walk through memory lane with Coke Christmas moments throughout the years - cue the polar bears and 18 wheeler!

Experience:
🎅Market Square (definitely hit up the t-shirts - reading each one is half the fun)
🎅 Snow Tubing (always our favorite)Ice Skating (truth: we don’t skate, but it’s perfect people watching)
🎅 Interactive Light up Dance Floor
🎅 @cinemark Theatre with holiday movies
🎅 Coca-Cola Lounge - 21+ Cocktail experience (looked great to go with the girls)
🎅 Santa Landing

And of course, the Eatery! Eyes (and mouths) got big here with featured food from State Fair of Tex winners like The Drowning Tacos (SO GOOD we then ordered the Birria Tacos, too all cooked onsite and with all the sauce!)

A stunning two-mile drive through light park complete with a midway stop - The Holiday Village with carnival rides, amazing bites (corndogs, funnel cakes and more, oh my!) And this year we were surprised with a new light tunnel, reimagined walk-through forest and new displays, great photo opps, gifts, visit with Santa, a lighted strollable forest.  It’s perfectly timed for food, fun and a little time on foot!

PRO TIP: Go early, get tickets in advance and spring for the fast pass on the weekends and prime holiday times. And enjoy it and don’t try to rush it - enjoy it! Named after Bangkok’s legendary road of entertainment of all kinds (Sukhumvit Soi 11), it seems fitting this newly imagined destination would find its home in Arlington’s Entertainment District. Anchoring the NEW @loewsarlington, @soycowboytx (also from @bbbutchers / @berghospitality) recently swung open the curtain this summer with an opening that made heads turn at every corner of this 12,000 sq. ft. of sexy space - with 3 unique bars, patio, viewable kitchen and dining room.

To call it a “Pan Asian restaurant” doesn’t do it justice with its rich menu of fresh sushi, dim sum, caviar, truffle, lobster, waygu (all things you don’t find in the home of the margarita machine and ballpark nachos.) And if you’re looking for entertainment, just take a peek into the expansive kitchen and watch your rolls or omakase be made. The cocktail menu is just as extravagant with everything from mezcal to Japanese whisky, you’re eyes will be just as happy as your lips upon your first sip.

While we experienced live music, fashion show and more as part of the opening, the cool smoke installation and the people-watching is definitely just part of the menu at Soy Cowboy you’ll have to explore.
