I’m a make-up fantatic. Which is quite funny because I don’t wear that much, but I sure do love to play with it and basically collect it like figurines on my bathroom shelves (I’m positive I would be considered a Hoarder, but that’s not the topic of today’s discussion.)
What is though? Some spring make-up must haves.
Recently, I was privileged to attend Nordstrom Spring Trend Show event at Galleria Dallas. If you’ve never been or never heard of it, it’s like Beauty Church…complete with a preacher, deacon, music and pews (well, figuratively speaking). It’s heavenly for people like me and even more so for those women who will spend the whole day at Nordstrom buying and trying all the latest and greatest in makeup and receiving mega bonus buys while being treated to some pretty nice treatments. All for a little $25 golden ticket. And gals, it’s worth it.
Sitting in attendance with some of beauty royalty like Karla Sugar, I was able to see what was new on the market and also score several samples of it, too. So once I got home I dumped out my goodies to try ’em out.
Here’s what I found that I really loved:
- La Mer: Does it need explanation? There’s a reason women pay around $275 for this magic cream in a bottle! $150-$275
- Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution: Dark circles and big pores be gone! $85
- Laura Mercier ambre vanille souffle body creme: Smells A-mazing $35
- Viktor & Rolf SpiceBomb: It’s for the men, but smells so good I haven’t given it to my husband to wear in fear I might jump his bones in public. $48-$128
- Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate: Firm my skin and even out the skin tone.$85
- Brushes from Nordstrom: Just like a pen, it’s gotta feel good when you use it. It’s good to replace those brushes from time to time and these are so soft and with a little care, can last me a while!
- Kate Somerville CytoCell Dark Circle Corrective Eye Cream: I’m sure sleep my help me cure some of my huge dark circle issues, but in the meantime until I win the lottery or someone wants to pay me for my sarcasm, I’ll be using this stuff. $75
- Lancome Visionnaire Corrector: More love for my dark circles as well as my pores and evening my skin tone using a little handle applicator. $89-$109
- Trish McEvoy Eye Base Essentials: Always in search of making my eyes look brighter, this shadow primer helps keep your eye makeup in place and makes you appear that you’ve had at least eight hours of shuteye, even if two is sounding good. $25
I love the look of those brushes!
They are so soft and the handle is a nice weight! Is that too weird to say! I also added prices and links to all the make up (per your requests – what was I thinking!) except the brushes! 🙁
I need some new makeup. Thanks for sharing I will have to check Nordstrom out online, we don’t have one here.
I also added prices and links to all the make up (per your requests – what was I thinking!)! Hope that helps!
I LOVE Makeup! Man would I get in trouble at a show like that.
It’s a blast! And it was 7 AM in the morning with 400 women wild about makeup! It’s Clinique free bonus time X 1000! Must do with the girls!
My mother SWEARS by Trish McEvoy. I need to try some!
You’re mama seems like she knows her stuff! It’s pretty great I admit! And reasonably priced…
I too need some new makeup. My make up box is VERY slim lately.
I wish you were close – I’m looking to do a “clean out my makeup box I’ve never used” party! It’s gonna be a doozie (and I don’t wear makeup!)
I’m a total beauty junkie. Those brushes look awesome!
They feel great! I love them and totally know the difference between a nice set and cheap one!
I love Madison Street Beauty from Etsy. It’s my favorite foundation. Thanks for sharing your favorites!
I’ll check that one out. My foundation is actually TARTE Miracuje! It’s meant to cover my freckles! I try to cover those angel kisses. Thanks for the recommendation!
I have never tried nordstroms cosmetics before. They look pretty nice though so I will go check them out! Thanks for the post!
They always remember to call you when there’s an event. I think their customer service is top notch!
I am not a make-up lover, but what a fun event! I love those brushes!
It’s just fun to people watch. REALLY!
I love finding new beauty products!! I’m always in need of new brushes, too!
Hey you! I need some lessons from you on makeup! Next time you’ll have to go with me! It’s so much fun!
Makeup… oh my oh my I am so Jealous that you got to attend the show and those brushes look great!
What’s sad is that this isn’t all the stuff I got – just the ones I highlighted. I got a bag and shared the stuff with my mom before this post! I even know some women who fly in for this! Check it out!
I would have loved this show. I am a makeup junkie!!!
Stacie, I know there are Nordstroms in Atlanta so you should go. What’s sad is that this isn’t all the stuff I got – just the ones I highlighted. I got a bag and shared the stuff with my mom before this post! I even know some women who fly in for this! Check it out!
Laura Mercier ambre vanille Soufflé—you’re making me hungry. My makeup bag has Carmex and a no name lipgloss. It sounds like Nordstom has lots of products to help me step it up.
The freebies make the one investment worth it. Get a good skin cream and foundation. You can get the rest for the most part in all the freebies, samples and swag. It’s worth it. Besides you face is going to absorb most of it, so don’t you want to know what you put on it. (I still love carmex too!)
Wow! I need some new makeup and these are really great tips. Thanks for sharing I will have to check Nordstrom out online because next bonus at Nordstrom starts on November.
